What hair care / skin care safe?

I recently read an article about all the harmful ingredients that are found even in hair care products / skin care that claim to be "natural". I found an ingredient of a natural facial cleanser recommended for all For me, this principle is also commonly used as an active ingredient in ROACH POISON! The problem is that all sites that have sought to talk all about ingredients to avoid ... and to tell you that is in 95% of products out there ... but nobody is saying what is right. Any suggestions?
