Why Choose Natural Products For Your Baby and Toddler?

Cloth diapers and homemade wipes help cut down on rashes and allergic reactions and save lots of money. New improved design of cloth diapers have made them just as convenient as disposable diapers. Homemade baby wipes can be easily made and help prevent diaper rash as well as producing less disposable waste. To make your own wipes, mix one fourth cup olive oil or baby oil with two cups of distilled water and one fourth cup of natural baby shampoo to ½ roll of organic paper towels. Pour the solution over the towels and seal them in an air tight container. Of course you can also use this wipes solution on cloth wipes.

Instead of using store bought baby oil containing petroleum-derived ingredients for the baby's tender skin, natural oils such as apricot provide the same benefit. Giving your baby a massage is highly recommended, especially for premature babies, in the bonding experience. It also helps in digestion, eases tension, and spurs growth and helps you bond with your baby.

Even when you are using cloth diapers and wipes your child may at some time experience a diaper rash. The ingredient in many organic diaper rash creams, Jojoba oil, allows skin to breathe and is non-carcinogenic. Mixing Jojoba oil with either pure vitamin E oil or Wheatgerm oil it provides the healing agent needed while letting the skin breathe. Great, natural lotions for sensitive baby...?

My current baby tends to break out in a rash with everything. The only one that doesn't do too much damage is Aveeno but even then...he gets a tiny bit.

I thought it was what I was eating (since he is breast fed) and had cut out a TON of foods only to find his rashes continued. That is when I stopped using baby washes and shampoos altogether and noticed the rashes went away a tad. BUT he needs to be cleaned at least once a week! He can't marinate in old milk, lol. (He has a bath 3 days a week)

Any ideas? I am thinking maybe an organic natural lotion and wash. What do other parents use for a sensitive skin?

It sounds like your baby has eczema. My daughter has it as well and is now 21 months and still has it. We use aveeno unscented baby wash and lotion. Put the lotion on heavily where the rash is a few times a day and then also use aveeno hydrocortisone cream twice a day on the rash. It should go away in 2-3 days. We also use free and clear laundry detergent and liquid fabric softener on all of our clothes and bedding. No matter what you use, if it is eczema there will be flare ups. Winter time when skin gets dry it will flare up. In the summer, sun exposure helps it (still use sun screen though) however places where baby gets hot ans sweatywill likely develope patches. It also seems for my daughter that chlorinated pool water helps hers. When she spends an evening in the pool with us it goes away. Best of luck!
