Despite the known hazards associated with many of the ingredients in cosmetics, skincare and personal care products, some manufacturers continue to use them. This is because they are inexpensive and can be used to produce items that can be marketed successfully in big profits. Health does not seem to be a problem.

Of course, you can verify the safety of products as federal regulations require that ingredients listed on labels in descending order by amount. Normally if the list is broken into thirds, the top third will be 90 - 95% of the product, the center will be 5 to 8% and the bottom is 1 -3%.

You can monitor safety data sheets on all the ingredients, but problems occur when manufacturers do not list the INCI (International Cosmetic names of ingredients). Instead, use one made up names or trade names chemical complex making it very difficult for the average consumer to look up.

The potentially harmful ingredients list is long. The best advice is to read the labels on your toothpaste, shampoo, moisturizer, deodorant and cosmetics. If you can not pronounce - Do not use!

Of course, the safest course of action is to seek out natural and organic products, but even here beware. Some unscrupulous manufacturers to mislead customers with false labels. The definitions of the industry (although legal) are not the same as in the dictionary and that most consumers would expect.

For example, the chemical definition of "organic" is "a compound containing a carbon atom. "Since the carbon is in anything that has ever lived, some cosmetic companies use synthetic chemicals derived from petroleum products and described as "organic preservatives.

Also you will find descriptions of "derived from (some sort of natural ingredient) ", which calms you into a false sense of security. You see it means a chemical process that has taken place and is no longer" natural ".

The only way to ensure you get 100% synthetic toxic chemicals and free products is recognized for the certification logos organic.

To be certified organic, products must contain at least 95% organically produced agricultural ingredients (excluding water and salt). The remaining 5% can be non-agricultural substances or non-organically produced agricultural ingredients with strict processing criteria, for example, NO GMO and absolutely NO SYNTHETIC
Chemicals.

The only organic products must contain at least 70% organically produced ingredients agriculture (excluding water and salt), but again the remaining 30% must follow the same rigorous standards of processing, for example, non-GMO and absolutely NO chemicals synthetic.

However, at present, body care products are not required to meet strict organic food standards maintained by international certification bodies such as the BFA and NASAA in Australia and the Department of Agriculture United States. As a result of many so-called "organic" products for body care are on the market. Since water is the main ingredient in many cosmetics, some manufacturers claim to use organic hydrosols or floral water, to green wash their products. Then make an eco-label while still using toxic synthetic ingredients that should never be allowed in products organic food.

Fortunately a company produces a whole range of skin and personal care products that are totally body truly "green". Most of their products certified organic Food Standards which means that even you could eat and would not hurt, though not is a recommendation.
