With the growing popularity of natural and organic products of the body is more options than ever to choose from with new and interesting products coming out almost every day. So how to decide on a lotion or moisturizer that is not only safe but are taught real and lasting benefits to the skin? Reading and understanding the ingredients and product demands is key to avoid being misled by companies that are trying to take advantage of the latest trends in marketing. But if you really do not have time to do this, here is a simple guide to the 5 key elements of a healthy and natural lotion or cream that can help you find products Fast Good.
1. No oil or synthetic ingredients.
2. A herbal or vegetable oils, nuts and butter are used as basic primary and should be the second or third ingredient listed on the panel after water.
For maximum effectiveness, look for products made with vegetables and / or nut oils and butters, such as jojoba, coconut, high oleic safflower, olive, sunflower, almond, grapeseed, avocado and Shea or cocoa butter instead of mineral oil (which is the principal basis for most mass-produced commercial lotions). These herbal oils are the same ones used for cooking purposes and are completely biodegradable.
In general, if they are safe to eat, then they are safe to put on your skin and does not harm the environment that are washed down the drain and coming to rivers, streams, and landfills.
Jojoba, Macadamia Nut, Virgin coconut, extra virgin olive and high oleic safflower or sunflower oil are excellent options because they are highly moisturizing and protective qualities and are easily absorbed by rapid relief of dry skin. They also have the added benefit of high to very high stability resulting in an excellent shelf life, which in turn, minimizes and often eliminates the need for preservatives. If you can get products made with the certified organic versions of these oils, then that is your best choice for finished products that are highly effective, safe and durable.
3. The inclusion of herbal extracts or infusions (either oil or water portion, or both) or other antioxidants.
Herbal teas and extracts such as chamomile, calendula, lilac, elm, mallow root, comfrey and yarrow are often like a bond of these herbs promote and are very supportive of healthy skin. Chickweed is especially helpful to control itching in the skin, and calendula and comfrey can help repair damaged skin by accelerating the healing process by promoting the regeneration of skin cells.
The antioxidants consumed through diet and supplementation, applied topically - Or both - are key to the fight against "free radicals caused by sun damage, along with a diet high in saturated fat. The ingredients that have proven most promise in this area so far are vitamin A (or beta carotene), vitamin C and vitamin E and green tea extract. Selenium, zinc and copper are minerals which have also been found to support the process of neutralizing free radicals. Of course, all these natural versions are always preferable to their synthetic counterparts.
4. Scented products to stick to those made with 100% pure essential oils instead of "perfume" or "fragrance oils" or a combination of aromas and essential oils.
Beware of combination products - those that use both fragrance and essential oils - especially if you are chemically sensitive or prone to suffer from allergies. Note that some floral and fruit aromas such as lavender, Plumeria, figure, and even the most vanilla and coconut are not synthetic fragrances are made from essential oils and may contain other harmful chemicals such as phthalates are not identified. Have you ever bought a lotion or cream at will and then set it aside in the bathroom medicine cabinet or linen closet and totally forgot to get started right out many years later and find exactly as it was when you bought it? This takes a cocktail of powerful chemicals to keep lotion in that state for so long!

They are 100% organic, natural cosmetics really safe???
They could argue that contain no "carcinogenic" sulfates, parabens, etc. But how are we sure that the natural herbs, no / yes extracts are so bad??? For example, I am looking for a hand cream that contains Yarrow. Yarrow, after prolonged use can increase the damage the sun to your skin. It also contains a toxic element (although in small quanitities). Is it really safer than chemical cosmetics? And it is really that bad cosmetic chemicals for us? What would you recommend?
