All Natural Make Up

How is natural makeup / appearance should be?

I am 21 and new to do and such things. I tried to achieve a natural look with Bare Minerals products. The last time I went to Sephora, I was asking an employee for some help and she said it looked like I had to investigate. So I'm confused, if a natural look there seems to be only cosmetic or subtle makeup still look like you?

My definition of a natural makeup is to use the least amount of makeup that is absolutely necessary. Must not appear who are not using any, but it is not for just a bunch of garbage piled in the face.
