Gowns, masks, silk cocoons, wraps, mud packs, shines and polishes, to name a few, are all services that are typically offered in the day and spas, in addition to and in conjunction with massage therapy.
Everyone treatments have therapeutic qualities, problems and concerns sunburn to stress. Many use natural ingredients and an application that focuses More on the therapeutic qualities of the product (s) used, rather than the physical aspect of massage modalities. As a massage therapist facing the fact of injury and burnout related to the physical challenges of doing deep tissue, such as massage or manipulation, the question arises of what other forms of income can be generated through licensing, training and equipment.
The development of a menu of spa treatments is a great way to not only distinguish yourself from the competition, but also for additional sessions, without taxing the body.
Many spa treatments can be perform without having a shower. They can use products that can remain in the body or the clinician can use wet towels to remove the product before proceeding the next step in treatment. In fact, I even have a selection of spa treatments I offer outcall massage.
If a shower is available, virtually there are no limitations to the types of treatments can be offered. For some clients receiving treatment at home and have a shower, I offer experience complete spa treatment including a massage.
Spa treatments can be offered as an upgrade to a massage or be specifically designed for a body part such as moisturizing foot masque and hand or a soothing neck treatment.
Full spa treatments can take the usual 60 minutes and are on foot, hand and scalp massage while the client is taken through a series of measures which rest during which a specific product displays its therapeutic qualities.
A simple wrapper for a client sunburned, which comes in wanting a massage, you might be using propolis and aloe vera to heal, lavender lotion or quiet and fresh coconut milk to seal and hydrate the skin effects. Apply the product to customers wrapped in a sheet and continue with a gentle massage. Half an hour later, the products have been absorbed and the customer can take home a bottle of lavender lotion (and sunscreen).
You can charge a premium for the product and use as you see, products retailing will become a natural extension of their care to his client.
The products needed for spa treatments can be purchased a seller that sells wholesale for the spa industry or even more fun, made from natural and organic ingredients can often be purchased at the local health food store.
