How to get rid of old acne scars

A good skin is the first thing many people notice a normal girl. I always hoped to have good skin - at least skin that is clear and smooth.

Unfortunately, my skin is a mixture of fat and dry regions, and have had acne since EVR became a high school student, even until now.
While always clear with time, each bout with acne left me with few new wells and scars. Getting rid of marks has been a constant, if tangential, the pursuit of my life.

What is a scar?

When skin is injured, a wound is formed. It can be caused mechanical injuries (eg cuts, punctures, cuts or bites), heat (eg: burns or burns) or chemical injuries (eg acid burns). Complete healing is possible in the case of internal organs. But in the case of skin wounds, the body can only repair the injury and the result is a scar.

What are the different types of scars?

Atrophic, hypertrophic and keloid. Atrophic scars way below the level of the surrounding skin. Scaring and hypertrophic scars are protruded above the level projected by the surrounding skin. These are especially common when the wound is not protected. Keloids tend to form long after the wound has healed. These are due to massive overproduction of connective tissue fibers, which continue to grow in the wound and on healthy skin as crab claws.

Ice Pick Scars

Ice pick scars are called such because they have a manner similar to what you would see if it attacked a piece of wood with an ice pick: shallow or deep pitting with steep sides and jagged edges. Rolling scars

Rolling scars are the result of tissue damage beneath the skin, and have the appearance of a rolling hill, hence the name. This is most commonly on the cheeks and forehead.

Preventing scars

Acne scars can be prevented through a program of active treatment and self-control. One of the worst things you can do to pimples is to pick them up. Some people try to take or remove blackheads or whiteheads but this is the worst thing you can do. Not only the bacteria that causes acne spread, the skin can be damaged leading to permanent scars.

Take the fresh juice of lemon and the sauce a little cotton on it. Pat your face with cotton and let dry. Some people may find the lemon juice irritating. In that case, can be diluted in some water or rose water. Let dry for 15-20 minutes and wash your face with water after that. Do this at least four times a week and you're a major change.

A popular home remedy for removing acne marks is to make a paste of apple and honey. Do apple paste and then add 4-6 drops of honey. Apply this mask on my face. Wash off after 15 minutes. This will improve the pores and make your complexion light.

How effective is proactive for acne?

I have had acne for 10 years and nothing I use seems to work. I tried changing my diet to more natural organic foods, have no hot showers and I wash my face twice a day. Could use some suggestions for anyone about treatments people have used and also if Proactive has worked for you. I'm about to go crazy and I'm an adult now and this is very embarrassing for me! Thank you.

I used proactive and it sounds like to me your skin is like mine. Proactive just made my face worse, but I think I did wrong when I was using it because there is supposed to be in the sun and everything and me. Proactive is something you have to use all your life if you start using it. When I left the treatment of face situation is even worse than it already was. So I went to the doctor and he gave me a prescription for this gel called clindamycin and if you use this, once the acne is gone, then you have to use this or anything else again. So ask Tell your doctor if he will prescribe clindamycin gel tube. WORKS! lol Good Luck!
