best lotion for eczema

I agree with the other reviewers: this is the best there is. My four kids all had very severe eczema when they were young. At one point, the oldest was almost hospitalized because of constant infections, but we refused to allow it. The point is, they were BAD - every time we went out in public people stopped me to ask it they had chicken pox/poison ivy. They all began to get much better when they reached the age of about 6 to 8, and now they look pretty normal except for persistent cracks on their hands and feet. They range from age 19 to age 8 now, and their skin is still very dry. This lotion is the best - it doesn't irritate them, and is a nice lotiony texture, unlike the thick goopy Eucerin creme we used when they were younger. There are multiple bottles of this stuff all over our house, and in all our cars. You can only imagine how upset I was last summer when I discovered that Walmart, Target, and Walgreens were no longer carrying it. I checked Neutrogena's website and it appeared to be gone, replaced by the red box stuff which doesn't come fragrance-free, except in an $8 medium-size tube. The lotion doesn't feel as nice, either, but at least it doesn't make my kids break out in a rash. I'm so happy to see that this is available at Amazon, and is also now listed on the Neutrogena website again - I'm hoping that they have decided to keep making it (or make it again?) We also love the Neutrogena foot creme, and it disappeared from stores at about the same time as the body moisturizer. It is also available now at Amazon, and the Neutrogena wesite. It heals cracked heels in just a few days - my kids use it constantly, esp in the winter. It isn't fragrance-free, but it doesn't bother their skin. I like these products so much that I have given them to friends and relatives as Christmas gifts - I'm a very practical person.Update: I just called Neutrogena again re this product. The customer service rep seemed to know less about this product than I did, but he did tell me that it has been discontinued. He had no explaination for why it is back on their website again. Not very helpful. He tried to encourage me to buy their "body wrap moisturizer", which we have already tried and did not like. He did confirm that the "body wrap" (red box) stuff is NOT the same product, just repackaged, but is a different formula entirely. He didn't really need to tell me that, it's pretty obvious. Too bad, I guess they had too many customers. He did tell me that the foot creme is still made, so no need to stockpile there.

mistake to stop making this by Neutrogena

As it seems once again corporate has a popular good product but they see fit to cancel a great product & replace it with a smaller in size more expensive replacement to make more money, They will lose me as a customer (and I suspect many others also)but they are counting on most just paying more for less! Oh well there are other products out there that cost less!

Best Value I Could Find!

I started looking on Amazon for my product because it is not showing up in the department stores where I had bought it - Fred Meyers and Walmart. When I dis- covered I could buy it in quantity at a bargain price, there was no doubt about my decision. I shall not need it for a while because I received 3 bottles, but when I am out I shall return to Amazon.

This product really works! I had rough dry skin on my feet that my former lotion didn't seem to help. Within a week of using this product, my feet look and feel better than they have in a long time. I love the lack of fragrance. A little goes a long way, and it smooths into the skin nicely. This is no-nonsense product that really does the job.

Sensitive Skin - Worked for me

I have extremely sensitive skin and this line of products really works for me - I've been using Philosophy products for about 2 months, and noticed a huge difference right away. I'd given up on finding any product that I could use successfully. Philosophy Hope In A Jar Therapeutic Moisturizer For Dry Sensitive Skin has to be my favorite - my skin is very sensitive and very dry, with dry patches in the winter especially. Nothing seemed to help balance out my skin except this line of products! Highly recommend.

Really Works a Treat

Amazing! This stuff really works, I tried it and within days I saw my skin come back to life. It's a wonderful little creme that did what no others could. I spent so much time trying all these different products, but this one worked out extremely well. People keep telling me I look healthier and brighter and more into life now and I love it. I have only been using this for a week and have already seen a difference. A small amount goes a long way. My skin looks glowing and feels great. I was looking for an anti-aging product that minimizes small lines and pores. This product does the trick!

Still irritating, even the sensitive skin formula

Not for Sensitive Skins-- I usually use Clinique, or Bare Minerals which is completely fragrance-free. Even then, I sometimes get reactions (usually to chemical sunscreens that are in a lot of day creams).This product is not a good choice for women who have sensitive skin. It didn't make me break out, because it actually burned and I had to take it off immediately. This product contains Diazolidinyl Urea which is irritating to a lot of people (including me). Another note-- the only negative review, which is from a buyer who got acne from the cream, was marked as "not helpful". Not a good sign for company honesty.Conclusion: Lots of good reviews, so I guess it's worth a try, but skip it if you don't like perfumed moisturizers.

I've been using this product (Skinceuticals Emollience) for 5-6 years now. It's hard to find in salons and when you do find it you end up being pressured into unnecessary spa treatments (botox, $700 extractions, etc). I like purchasing it through Amazon.com where it is not only cheaper than if you purchase in a spa, but free shipping if you are a Prime member. Great product, great seller! Thanks amazon!

My favorite Moisturizer

I was recommended this product after having a microderm treatment at the Bend Derma Spa. I was told that my skin was dry. I could feel that it was dry where I was getting smile lines but I was still getting acne. I had been using Proactiv which even dried the dry areas out more.But after a few weeks of using Emollience Rich my skin was clearing up. Ah - because there are so many great antibacterial oils in here and it was soothing and moisturizing.I've just run really low and won't be driving the distance to Bend and have decided to order online because I can't imagine going without this product on any day.And if you have any questions about using oil on oily skin remember your science class - oil breaks up oil, water and oil separate. Having the oils in this product keep the skin happy and the face washes so much cleaner without irritation.

I ordered this cream only because the cream I normally use now costs over $100 for a small jar. I decided to try something less expensive that still had the potential of being able to tackle my dry skin. So far, this has done very well. It isn't at all heavy, yet keeps me appropriately hydrated. I have very dry skin, so I use this in both the morning and at night. I would buy it again.

Rich and creamy

I love this lotion. It's very luxurious. I use it at nighttime and sometimes during the day if I won't be outside much. It's scented very gently, which is important to me as I hate perfumy smells. I'd say one jar lasts about a month or so. I have very dry skin and live in the desert, so a rich face lotion is key. This product meets my expectations for soft, not-tight skin, and the price is right. I highly recommend.

This product is far from natural. www.SheaTerraorganics.com and Dr. Mercola's products are TRULY natural and toxin free. If you want to check the ingredients for any product go to Environmental Working Group's personal product review website, skindeep, for more info. they have the toxicity level as well as the associated scientific reports to back up their ratings. www.ewg.org is the portal.

My favorite body moisturizer

This is my favorite moisturizer for everyday use! It's smooth, silky, soaks in nicely, doesn't leave a film, and smells very nice - not overpowering.

Labeling error and new formula

EDIT: I wrote Kiss My Face after I wrote the review below. The mineral oil listed on the label was an error. There was a printing error when they redesigned the bottles. The lotion does not contain mineral oil and never will. They agree: petroleum is not a good idea.The CS rep said they have reformulated the lotion. They decided to do this to take out the parabens -- to make it even more sensitive-human-friendly.There is hope in asethetics of the new formula also. The bottles I have are not the final new formula the representative said.Kiss My Face is sending me 3 new bottles to replace the ones I have: the final new formula and correctly labeled -- with their apologies. If nothing else, they get my vote for excellent customer service.I will update this review when the package arrives.-------------- Original review ---------------------This has been my favorite lotion for years. I was almost out so I ordered this 3 pack: a bottle for the kitchen, bedroom and one for work. When it arrived, I had already unwrapped two bottles when I realized it was a new formula. The second ingredient is now mineral oil. The ingredients listed here are not correct.In addition, the lotion is no longer the fluffy, viscous, sweet smelling cream that I loved. Im so sad that this line is discontinued. I like to have a balance between a lotion and SPF and dove has always been the perfect product. Doesn't smell like spf and isnt runny like most lotions with spf. I love it!

When I was unable to find it in the stores after many years as a very satisfied customer, I contacted Dove about their Deep Moisture facial lotion. I was told they're discontinuing their face lotion line. You can call Dove at 1-800-761-DOVE: they are taking customer comments/complaints about this decision. Maybe we can get them to change their minds!

I absolutely LOVE this facial moisturizer. I can't even find it in stores anymore. I have oily skin, but this is amazing light to have been created for dry skin. The SPF is a bonus. I don't know what I'm gonna do when I can't find this anymore.

Left me with dryness and peeling

I'm 24 and have used Neutrogena's regular face moisturizer for the last 12 years. During winters, I've fought with flaking on my upper cheeks and lower forehead, applying several times a day, and using an ancient Bath & Body Works day/night mask.My friend highly recommended this Mary Kay product--she happily switched from Neutrogena--and gave it to me for Christmas. Initially I was put off by the chemical smell (familiar to many "age-fighting" creams), and after dries on my face, it gives a dry, cracking feeling. (Also I don't want to become dependent on age creams at such a young age--my skin is great, thanks to using Retin-A for acne for 10 years, & not sunbathing.) Over one month slowly began to peel worse than before. Now whole sheets are coming off. A friend suggested this could be due to the age-fighting chemicals shedding "dead" skin, but I'm not happy with flakes and sheets of skin everywhere--including my clothes.I must give one plus, though: no SPF! Therefore no sunscreen smell, and it allows me to convert the Vit D in my skin during the short times I have outside. I continue to search store shelves high and low for no SPF--and no ageless chemicals.

Bad way to sell this product

One reason that this product probably doesn't work is because it is more than likely expired. These products are not suposed to be sold on the internet just for that reason, you don't know what you are getting. If you buy from a Mary Kay consultant you will get a 100% guarantee, if you don't like something for any reason you can get your money back or a replacement with something else. Besides this takes away from the consultants trying to make a living.

Best moisturizer I've ever used

I love this moisturizer! It was originally given to me as a sample and I had never used Mary Kay products before. It is light enough to wear under my makeup and absorbs quickly. I'm only 26 so I only had laugh lines and just a few fine lines starting near my eyes and all of those have almost completely vanished. I can see a difference in my face. I don't think I will ever buy another moisturizer other than this one.

Ok Product

I used to use the Mary Kay moisturizer 2, but when I couldn't find anywhere to get that anymore I purchased this. I was dissapointed with this in comparison. It leaves my face feeling tacky an doesn't seem to absorb all of the way. When I go to wash my face hours later, the remainder washes off. I find that is seems rather thick and makes my skin more oily.
